An access log is a detailed list of all the files which were accessed by the visitors of a certain site. Any file which was requested for some reason shall be listed, so if you have only one webpage with three embedded images, one video and one embedded text file, for instance, the access log shall contain a total of six entries - one for every of the 6 files which were accessed when the visitor opened the webpage. A log typically provides the file name and path, the date, plus the visitor’s Operating System, Internet browser and IP address. Sometimes you can also find the referrer Internet sites that sent the visitors to your website. The data an access log file includes is in human-readable plain text format. It can be processed by special software on a personal computer and used to write reports on the overall performance of a site, independent of the web stats your hosting server may have produced.

Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting

If you choose one of our cloud hosting solutions, you shall get thorough access logs for all of your Internet sites. When you sign in to your Hepsia CP, you can check out the Access/Error Logs section where you will see a thorough list of the domains and subdomains you have added or created inside the hosting account. You will simply need to click on the On button, that's found on the right-hand side of each hostname and our cloud platform shall start generating logs right away. To stop this function, you'll have to follow the same exact steps and click on the Off button. The domains and subdomains could be handled separately and at any time. You'll find a download link in the Logs section of the CP for any log produced by our system, so that you can save the file to your computer and view it or use it with some log processing software.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting

When you have a semi-dedicated server account with us, it shall not take more than a few clicks to permit the generation of access logs by our system if you need them. The function could be permitted via the Hepsia website hosting Control Panel and this can be done individually for every single domain or subdomain you have inside your account. Once you log in and navigate to the Access/Error Logs section of the CP, you will find a list of all the hostnames with an On/Off button next to each of them. One click will enable the log generation and a second one shall deactivate it, so you can control this feature with great comfort. A Download link within the same section will enable you to save the gathered content as a text file, that you may then use on your personal computer. Whether or not the logs are disabled, you'll still be able to download the data that has been previously generated.
